Barcelona confirm Fermin Lopez ready to return from injury ahead of Real Betis clash

Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has confirmed that Fermin Lopez is ready to return from injury ahead of Saturday’s La Liga clash against Real Betis.

Lopez has been out since the defeat to Chelsea due to a muscle injury but has been spotted back in training this week.

Flick told a pre-match press conference that Lopez is now fit, although he may have to settle for a place on the bench against Betis. Lopez’s return comes at a good time, as Dani Olmo has just been ruled out for a month with a dislocated shoulder.

“Fermín can play, I’m not sure if he’ll start, but I’m happy to have him back. Dani is a good player, these things happen, we’ll have to manage it,” the Barca boss told reporters.

Frenkie de Jong is also set to feature after recovering from a fever that saw his miss the win over Atletico. Flick confirmed that the Dutchman has “trained well and could play tomorrow.”

Barcelona take on Betis on Saturday evening and then head back to Camp Nou for a Champions League tie with Eintracht Frankfurt.
