Besiktas want Barcelona’s Marc-Andre ter Stegen on loan in January

Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen appears set to leave the club in the January transfer window in search of game time ahead of World Cup 2026.

The stopper is still out injured but is expected back shortly. However, he’s lost his place in the starting XI and has been told by Germany boss Julian Nagelsmann he needs to be playing if he wants to be No.1 at the World Cup.

According to Fanatik, Besiktas have already been in touch with Ter Stegen’s entourage and Barcelona to talk about a potential loan for the second half of the season.

Ter Stegen would be guaranteed the No. 1 spot with the Turkish team and would also be involved in European competition as Besiktas are in the Europa League.

It’s not clear yet if Ter Stegen is willing to head to Turkey and there may well be more offers for the goalkeeper as the window draws closer.

Monaco have previously been linked with Ter Stegen as well as Manchester United, although the Red Devils have since signed Senne Lammens who has recently taken over as the club’s No. 1 spot.
