Hansi Flick admits he’s missing Gavi at Barcelona

Barcelona boss Hansi Flick spoke about Gavi ahead of the team’s next game against Celta Vigo in La Liga.

The midfielder remains sidelined after undergoing knee surgery and isn’t expected back until 2026.

He’s one of several injured players who have been missed this season, with Flick admitting he can’t wait to have Gavi available for selection once again.

“It’s always good to talk about how he helps us; he’s important. His character, his mindset, are outstanding. I’ll be delighted when he returns. All we have to do is wait,” he told reporters at his pre-match press conference.

Yet Barca will have to wait for a while to see Gavi back. He was spotted stillon crutches this week as he took time out to visit the renovated Camp Nou stadium.

Gavi’s message reads: “It will always be an honor and will remain in my memory to have scored the last goal at the old Camp Nou. Looking forward to enjoying the new one with all of you culés.”

Barcelona expect Gavi to miss around five months of action, meaning he may not return until around February 2026.
