Marcus Rashford misses training again, not yet ruled out of Barcelona vs Athletic

Marcus Rashford missed training for the second day running on Friday as Barcelona gear up for a Camp Nou return against Athletic Club on Saturday in La Liga.

The reason for his absence is unclear, with conflicting reports flying about right now. Mundo Deportivo report that “reliable sources” have confirmed he has a “severe case of the flu.” The England star reported for training on Friday but was told to go home.

Diario AS are far more suspicious and think it’s a “personal issue” – noting how Rashford spoke with Hansi Flick at the club and was then given a day off, while Sport don’t seem to really know and so have just mentioned “discomfort.”

The reports all seem to agree that Rashford isn’t yet ruled out of Saturday’s match against Athletic, although his participation is obviously in doubt after missing two straight training sessions.

Fortunately, we should get an update on Rashford later today when Flick speaks to the media in his pre-match press conference.
