‘We’ve changed a few things’ – Joan Garcia celebrates clean sheet on Barcelona return

Barcelona welcomed Joan Garcia back from injury for Saturday’s La Liga clash with Athletic Club and saw the goalkeeper keen a clean sheet in a 4-0 win.

Shut-outs have been hard to come by for Barcelona this season, and Garcia says it’s something the team have been working on behind the scenes.

“I’ve felt the affection of the people. Very happy to return with a victory. We’ve been looking for a clean sheet for a while now. We’ve changed a few things, but every game is different. Hopefully, we can achieve it in the following matches as well,” he told the media.

“Athletic is a very dangerous team, they press very well and they managed to steal the ball from us near our goal. That early goal was good and now we have to keep working hard for Tuesday.

“I feel comfortable trying to help the team. If I need to be braver, I’m happy to be. Today it went well. We were really looking forward to playing here, and it’s been filled to the maximum capacity possible. Hopefully, we can continue like this for every match.”

Garcia’s return is a huge boost for Hansi Flick and Barcelona, while the Catalans were also able to welcome Raphinha back from injury in the second half as their injury problems ease slightly.
