Ronald Araujo travels to Israel after being granted leave of absence by Barcelona

Ronald Araujo is reportedly heading to Israel in a bid to help his current issues after being granted a leave of absence from Barcelona.

The defender has decided to make the trip “to get closer to his beliefs and find the emotional stability he seeks in order to return,” according to ESPN.

Mundo Deportivo are reporting that Araujo will head to Jerusalem where he will seek “spiritual guidance” during what is a difficult time for the defender.

Araujo’s visit will be a “short stay” which is “designed to disconnect, do some sightseeing and find a space of calm,” according to Diario Sport.

Barcelona are said to be fully supportive of Araujo’s trip and are hoping it can help him psychologically after he decided to take time away from the game after his red card against Chelsea in the Champions League.

Araujo has since been granted an indefinite leave of absence, with Deco having confirmed the club are not setting a date for the defender’s return to action.
