Gavi sets date for Barcelona return after knee surgery

Barcelona midfielder Gavi is currently working hard on his recovery from knee surgery and has reportedly pencilled in a date for when he may be available to Hansi Flick once again.

Gavi was ruled out for five months in September after being forced to go under the knife once more in what was a devastating blow to the midfielder.

According to Diario Sport, there is finally some light at the end of the tunnel for Gavi. A new report states his recovery is going well and he’s currently aiming to return by February.

Gavi and Barcelona are even thinking that if they have to play a Champions League play-off game, which is looking likely right now, then the youngster could even be available for those two matches.

The play-offs are two-legged affairs which are scheduled for February 17-18, with the second legs due to take place a week later on February 24-25.

Gavi is currently still working in the gym but certainly seems to be making good progress. Let’s hope he recovers fully and it’s not too long until we can see him back in action once again.
