Eric Garcia says Barcelona waiting for Ronald Araujo ‘with open arms’

Barcelona defender Eric Garcia has become the latest player to send support to Ronald Araujo after he took a leave of absence from the club.

Garcia, who signed a new contract extension at the club this week, says Barcelona miss the Uruguay international and hope he returns to competitive action soon.

”We miss him, both as a player and as a person. He’s a very well-liked person. We’re waiting for him with open arms,” he told reporters.

“When it comes to health, everyone is in charge of their own decisions. I hope he’s patient and can return as soon as possible. He’s a very important player and we miss him.”

Pedri has also sent out a supportive message to Araujo, saying the center-back “is like a brother” and that he is still very much needed at Barcelona.

Araujo has this week taken a trip to Israel in search of spiritual guidance after being granted time away from the game by his club side.
