Hansi Flick talks Lamine Yamal position shift after Barcelona beat Real Betis

Hansi Flick was all smiles again after seeing his Barcelona team beat Real Betis 5-3 in La Liga on Saturday.

Ferran Torres bagged a hat-trick, while Roony Bardghj and Lamine Yamal were also on target in the victory at La Cartuja.

Flick played Yamal in a central role during the match and spoke about his decision to tweak the No. 10’s position for the game.

“I’ve seen Lamine well, also defensively. He has worked with the rest of his teammates. It is one of the options we have. We decided with the coaches,” he told reporters.

“We asked him if he would like to play as a ’10’ and he said yes. Everything I saw of Lamine tonight was good. The connection with Roony. The most important thing was his defensive contribution. It was incredible.”

Flick also spoke about his team and wasn’t too worried by the two late goals conceded.

“I think the first half was very good, but we were tired in the second half,” he added.

“Defensively, we weren’t able to control the final minutes of the game. But I want to be positive in my assessment, although we will analyze it. The important thing is that we won.”
