‘He has to manage it’ – Hansi Flick talks Lamine Yamal injury after Barcelona beat Elche

Hansi Flick spoke about Lamine Yamal’s injury again after seeing Barcelona beat Elche 3-1 on Sunday in La Liga.

Yamal opened the scoring after just nine minutes of the game and went on to play almost the entire 90 minutes against Eder Sarabia’s side.

Flick says that Yamal’s pubalgia problems are still not completely over but feels the youngster is finding out how to manage the problem

“His injury needs to be managed; he’s disciplined,” he told reporters.

“He has to train, do treatment… he’s doing it. I can’t say the injury is over; it comes and goes. And he has to manage it.”

Flick also spoke about his team and felt they should have won by a bigger margin.

“If we had both taken advantage of our chances, we would have finished 6 or 5 to 2,” he added.

“Today is another step forward; we have two games before the break and we want to win them. The first one is on Wednesday in the Champions League.”

Barcelona now go on to face Club Brugge in the Champions League before heading to Celta Vigo next weekend in La Liga.
