‘Lamine Yamal always wants to be here’ – Dani Olmo defends Barcelona team-mate after Spain exit

Dani Olmo has defended Lamine Yamal after seeing his Barcelona team-mate drop out of international duty with Spain after undergoing treatment for his pubalgia issues.

The news that Yamal had been withdrawn came as a shock earlier this week, but Olmo says his commitment to the cause can not be questioned.

“Lamine Yamal always wants to be here. If he hasn’t been able to be here, it’s because he’s not at 100%. In the end, Lamine’s willingness to be here is questioned, but behind closed doors it’s the complete opposite,” he told Onda Cero.

“The relationship between Barça and RFEF? No problem, everyone wants him to be 100%. He’s used to being talked about.”

Yamal is now taking some rest and is expected to return to training with Barcelona some time next week. As things stand, it is thought he will be fit and available to play when Barca resume action against Athletic Club.
