Monaco ‘no longer want’ Barcelona loanee Ansu Fati

Ansu Fati’s future at Monaco has been cast into doubt amid suggestions that he is no longer wanted by the Ligue 1 club.

The forward moved to Monaco in the summer on a season-long loan from Barcelona in search of regular minutes.

After a slow start, he hit the ground running and scored six goals in five games for the club, winning the Player of the Month award for September.

However, things have gone south since those happy days. Monaco changed manager, Fati was sidelined with an injury and he’s found it tough going since in France.

Reporter Romain Molina now says that his time at the club could be up. He posted on X: “Monaco no longer wants Ansu Fati (what a surprise, huh…).”

Fati has now gone nine games without scoring for Monaco and is struggling for starts once again. There is a purchase option in his contract, but it does look like Monaco won’t be taking that up as things stand.
