Barcelona make offer for young Al Ahly striker Hamza Abdelkarim

Barcelona have reportedly made a move to bring in 17-year-old Al Ahly striker Hamza Abdelkarim on loan this winter.

The teenager is wanted for Barcelona Atletic as they’ve suffered a string of injuries in the first half of the campaign and have seen Víctor Barberà, Òscar Gistau and Ibrahim Diarra all sidelined.

Egyptian journalist Mahmoud Shawky reports “FC Barcelona has sent an official offer to Al-Ahly Club to sign Hamza Abdel Karim to the second team ‘Barcelona B”’.. and this is on a loan basis with the intention of a final purchase. Al-Ahly Club is currently reviewing the offer to respond to Barcelona.”

Other reporters are also now talking about the offer for the youngster who has recently caught the eye at the Under-17 World Cup.

Abdelkarim scored twice and bagged an assist in three group games as Egypt made it all to the knockout stages but were then knocked out by Switzerland.
