Barcelona boss Hansi Flick left ‘furious’ after Raphinha suffered injury setback before El Clasico

Barcelona star Raphinha continues to be sidelined due to injury after suffering a setback in his recovery just before El Clasico.

The hope was that Raphinha would return in time for the crunch game against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu but he suffered a relapse in training that has kept him sidelined.

According to a new report from Cadena SER, Hansi Flick was left “furious” when he found out about Raphinha’s problem and wanted to know exactly what had happened.

The German coach had been expecting Raphinha to not only feature against Madrid but to play a key role in the game against Los Blancos.

The report adds that Flick views Raphinha as just as important as Pedri and Lamine Yamal “because of his hunger, his intensity, how he leads and inspires the rest of the team.”

Flick is now still waiting for Raphinha to return and will be without his services again versus Club Brugge.

There’s a small chance he may be available for the game against Celta Vigo but it seems more likely Barca will wait until after the international break, particularly as he’s not been called up by Brazil.
