Rival watch: Villarreal hit by more problems ahead of Barcelona clash

Barcelona are set to see ou 2025 on Sunday with a final La Liga game of the season against high-flying Villarreal at La Ceramica.

The Yellow Submarine come into the game fresh from a shock Copa del Rey exit at the hands of Racing on Wednesday night.

Marcelino has now been hit with more problems ahead of the match against Barcelona as he’s likely to be without a host of players for the fixture.

According to AS, Villarreal will definitely be without Logan Costa, Willy Kambwala, Santi Mouriño and Thomas Partey as well as former Barca player Ilias Akhomach and Pape Gueye who have been called up for AFCON.

Marcelino will also have to make do without Juan Foyth and Sergi Cardona, after they picked up injuries against Racing, while Gerard Moreno and Dani Parejo are also doubts due to physical issues.

It’s a tough situation for Villarreal who have been enjoying life in La Liga. They currently sit in third place in the table, eight points behind Barcelona but with two games in hand.
