Frenkie de Jong red card leaves Hansi Flick facing midfield crisis at Barcelona

Barcelona’s midfield problems mounted on Sunday as Marc Casado was forced out of the Celta Vigo win late on due to injury, while Frenkie de Jong was shown a late red card and will now miss their next match.

Hansi Flick is already without Pedri and Gavi due to injury, meaning he’s facing a real headache ahead of Barcelona’s next game after the international break against Athletic Club.

The Barcelona boss will definitely be without De Jong, Pedri and Gavi and must now wait and see how serious Casado’s injury is and whether he can recover over the international break.

Barcelona return to action on November 22nd against Athletic Club, with the game potentially set to be played at Camp Nou for the first time.

Marc Bernal may come into contention for a start, although Barcelona have been managing his minutes very carefully and he’s yet to start since returning from his knee injury.
